If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail. ~Abraham Maslow
It’s been a long time since I’ve submitted a post to this blog. I came to a crossroads…again, about working on growing my all-natural bath and body company Simple Mahogany Bliss and my writing. I know I still have to focus on both but I decided that I would approach the process differently. If I want to have a successful business, preparation is the key. So over the last few months, I’ve been setting up my website and taking care of other company business in relation to the bath & body side of things. I’ve also been taking care of my family and my father who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung and bone cancer. So as usual life is happening and basically I’ve had to learn how to manage it all. As Pharrell Williams said in his interview with Oprah Winfrey, ‘life is all about adjustments’, and in the past that was always the hard part, “making adjustments.” This time, however, I’ve been handling everything quite well. I’m just going with the flow and allowing Life to just happen instead of trying to control it.
As I stated in my blog post “The Air Up There” my writing and my b&b company go hand in hand. And now that I have my own website, I can have everything in one place—my products and my writing. Drum roll please…my writing hiatus is over and I’ve started posting to my official website www.simplemahoganybliss.com and I’d love for anyone that was following me on my WordPress site to check my website out and subscribe to my new blog “Simply Bliss”.
Even though I haven’t written any posts, everyday I’m educating my spirit and writing out my thoughts and the evolution of my understanding about this thing we call Life. I still have the same core beliefs, but I’m beginning to understand them more clearly and live by them. My writing is starting to reflect that growth. My intention is the same—Inform 2 Inspire—because life is growth and growth happens from learning so my aim will always be to provide useful information that will assist my fellow humans in navigating this journey we call Life. So use what you need and discard the rest; there is never one-way or one answer to anything, there is only perception.
See you over at Simply Bliss!
