We’re taught to think before we make a decision or think before we speak as if that’s the absolute for making the right decisions in life. As soon as we are born, we are learning new things whether they are being directly taught to us or we are learning them indirectly from our environment. We go through life, feeding our mind all sorts of information and our mind helps us to decipher, sort and understand it all. Our minds can come up with several different logical reasons when we are faced with decisions and conflicts.  But as brilliant and complex as the mind may be, it is also very temperamental and often times causes unnecessary drama in our lives because it listens to our ego. How bad do you want it?

I’m a day late on my post due to an awful sinus infection I’m dealing with and I don’t feel well. I could have convinced myself that I deserve to rest due to being sick and even though it is true that I’m sick it’s also true that it’s an excuse. Excuses are things we tell ourselves to let us off the hook when we choose the easy way out. But is it really the easy way? At the end of the day, you’re only hurting yourself and the goals you put forth for yourself. The funny thing is we tell ourselves that no one will know or care if we skip one post, or eat just one more cookie, or skip a day of working towards a goal. But in reality the only person that matters is you and you should care enough to keep your word and follow through. Continue reading

FAITH IN ACTION

Do you have the courage to live your life and truly be happy? Not until recently did I realize that I have always lived my life in fear and that realization also showed me that everyone else around me is doing exactly the same. We walk around being unhappy and complaining about our lives as if we can’t change them. A lot of us tiptoe through life as if being safe and conforming to what everyone else is doing will somehow change our individual outcome—sadly it won’t. It takes courage to be happy. It takes courage to live the life you want to live no matter the price. Are you going to live by faith or fear? If you say you have faith, then know this–courage is faith in action. Continue reading
